Izzy Sneed was raised in the rural town of Preston, Missouri. Her family's complicated and frequent relocations throughout her life has significantly influenced her artistic practice. Currently, she lives with her partner and cat in the North Dallas metroplex. Sneed graduated in 2024 with a Masters in Fine Arts at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. She has participated in many juried exhibitions, including the John Weinkein exhibition juried by Vicki Meek and Represent: Misapprehended juried by Enrique Cervantes. Furthermore, Sneed has been honored with several awards, notably receiving an honorable mention in the UNT Libraries’ 13th Biennial Artists’ Book Competition for her work.
Her work centers around her experience during puberty and the events that have shaped her. She takes a therapeutic approach in order to reclaim the moments of embarrassment and shame she felt as her body and life changed. She often uses feminine craft (textiles, scrapbook elements, glitter, etc.) to bring into light the often downplayed art forms.
